PTC_COMMON_NAME in Drawings

In our Windchill system we have File Name equal Number, but the Name we want to equal our Creo parameter called Title. Our parts and assemblies have a parameter called Title which drives the accompanied drawing title block. our dilemma is the following:

Drawings cannot contain relations and we would like to set Title = PTC_COMMON_NAME for the drawing so the Title shows contend in Windchill. Currently Title only shows content in Windchill for Parts and Assemblies.

Thank you in advance,

Lance

You can do this with a drawing program, but it has to be manually added to every drawing (or the drawing template).

A diagram helps greatly with this, using arrows showing from where filled in by users to where displayed in Windchill / Drawings, etc.

It's simple, but there is massive "churning" from trying to adequately address:

- PTC Common Name

- Name

- Description / DESCRIPTION (yes, these are different)

- Title

Would be great to have a single, comprehensive but simple document on this - questions on it come up like clockwork.

I would highly recommend the 'drawing program in the drawing template' approach here (and in other cases where there is content that you'd like to see in every drawing).
