Parameter for level of assembly

Hi,

We are trying to introduce a parameter for level of assembly inside a part.

I try to utilize the report parameter &rpt.level of drawing inside part.

It doesn't work. Help me with a parameter to retreive level of assembly or a best practise for it.

We are going to use it for building a logic for part naming.

e.g. xx-yyyy-zz xx- level of assembly.

Hello Dhinesh,

I don't think it's doable to go backwards, and get a drawing repeat region to alter a parameter in one of the assemblies's parts.

Are you going to pull the level parameter from your part name, and try to put that into your repeat region afterwards?

What you are looking for is a parameter typically applied to indented Bills of Material. usually, this is not appropriate for intelligent part numbering parameters as this "level" can be different if used in a different assembly. Also, what do you determine to be the -top- level assembly which is usually considered level 0 or level 1. Again, typically the indented BOM "level" starts incrementally based on the queried level.

I also have not run across a Creo BOM report that reports indented bills of material. If someone had developed one, you would have that data in hand. I am sure WindChill has this capability in their extended report functions.
