Part interference = lines missing

WF4, M190

I know this has been covered many times, but I wanted to see if there
was anything new.

I have a frame assy consisting of 8 pieces of aluminum extrusion. These
are miter cut and butt jointed together and welded. The heat from the
weld operation (continuous fillet at each joint) means that the frame
shrinks in size, so I've specified the frame size and the piece size to
accommodate based on our fabricators experience. What that means is
that there is 0.05mm of interference at each joint in Pro/E. Not really
a big deal, except that the edge where I need to attach one of my weld
symbols is missing.

In the past, the solution to this was to eliminate the interference, but
I really can't change my part lengths and I don't want to create a whole
other set of parts just to make this drawing work.

Any new tricks here?

Doug,

A weld feature should work (surf-surf) and give you the annotation you need.

Maybe 🙂
