I want to explode everything except for one specific subassembly (or a particular selection of parts... whatever there is available)
In the end, it should be possible to move these parts together when Editing Position
How to, guys ?
Solved! Go to Solution.
You can unexploded the parts of the sub-asm and explode the sub-asm itself.
Turn on the model tree explode status to quickly see the current state.

Great
A good helper that button.
Always there and I never saw it...
But it's very confusing:
Once I toggle the status, it goes back to the unexploded state, but does not go back to the original position.
I'll soon sense what exactly this button does...
Also,
Is there a way to "group" some parts, so they move together ?
Sorry to have dropped this conversation. Been out of town for a while.
Did you get your answers? Overall, the whole explode interface is a bit archaic but once you master it, it does work pretty well. The model tree statuses do not update in real time. As for groups, it is a selection process, but yes, you can move things together. You can also copy positions of another item.
Be careful when saving explode states by saving them as default. Somehow, these tend to be cumulative in subsequent assemblies and do some weird things. Always name your explode state with a unique name. Also, remember to save your explode states. It is all too easy to do a lot of work only to have it go poof!

Simple, actually
Selecting them altogether does works fine to move a group
Thanks for this and all the other tips
