Pro/E VPN tricks

Don't mean to post on a topic thats been discussed berfore, but after
searching the archives and learning some things I still have questions.
By turning off the local firewall, and specifying PTC licenses to point
to the IP address instead of server name I have solved some issues.
BUT... Intralink seems to run flawlessy over the vpn, gets a license
quick, I can locate in CS fairly well. Pro/E on the other hand takes
10 to 15 minutes to start, and I still get a license failure. It is set
up the exact same as intralink. In my shortcut I have set the
starts-in to a local folder. Nothing seems to help. Anyone got some
tricks they can share?? (WF3, ILink 3.4m050, XP)
thanks,

Any solution? I am trying to run Pro/e remotely by VPN to company networkand Remote Desktop to my workstation. All works well except Pro/e is 50X slower. Any hints?

William, Install Pro/E on the remote workstation and just use the VPN for
the license. Remote Desktop is completely impractical to run Pro/E
over.UNLESS you change the config file on the host to include graphics
win32_gdi. This speeds up your Remote session tremendously, but of course,
slows down Pro/E graphics on the host system. I have found this to be
acceptable for working on simple models.

Hope this helps,
