Hello Guys,
I'm new to CREO and we are introducing a the CAD system in our business while already having an imbedded and running Windchill.
For BoM handling we want to be able to maintain our FindNumbers in CREO and pass the parameter further to Windchill to maintain the Design BoM. (all not a problem with the correct server settings and parameter mapping)
I was able to create the component parameter in our assembly template as well as also display it in the model tree.
Now I'm facing two problems, one to pass a relation to every occurrence in the assembly and the other to define that component parameter properties to always be a "string" and "designated".
Relation:
Since we have some components (C-Parts) which have a hard defined Findnumber in their "local" parameters I'm looking for a way to synch them into the component parameter.
I was able to do that via a relation on that occurrence in the assembly (see printscreen), but would like to loop that relation to every component in the assembly and to every component that will be placed in the assembly.
Does someone have an idea how to implement that, without programing an external software? (via ModelChecker, Toolkit, mapkey, etc)
Component Parameter:
When I click in the model tree to give to a component a Findnumber, which has never had one before, I get the view to define the parameter (see printscreen). I would like that the user does not have to select the type and to activate the "Designated" (some user will do it wrong, I'm sure of that). So I would like to "predefine" the properties of that parameter for every occurrence in the assembly.
Any one got to this an idea?
Attached you can find some printscreens of what i have done so far.
Many thanks for your help or tipps.
BR,
Ryan

Within the Creo environment the only option I can think of is to use mapkeys. You can not configure the default settings in the parameter editor UI.
You should read about Pro/Batch if you are not aware of it for automation which may be an option to get this done.
