Running Simulation on a assembly with complex geometry

How do you deal with situation when some of the components (cast) doesn't get meshed. When I run the AutoGem, it shows few surface which is causing issue. If I need to fix the model, its going to be lot of time and no guarantee that creo with generate mesh again.

Model is cast part created using surface and then solid volume.

Any suggestions?

Try meshing the part by itself.

Try exporting the part and then re-importing it.

Check your accuracy.

Which format to export ? I tried STL

Could you please elaborate on the process you are suggesting.

I was thinking Step but I don't think one format would work better than another. To be clear - the 3 suggestions I made were independent checks you could try.

The 3 checks I suggested are things you could do relatively quickly to see if they helped. The most likely case however is that you have some bad geometry that you will have to fix.

In addition to what Chris suggested, try setting the default contact setup to free and see if the assembly meshes. This helps determine if the issue is with the mesher trying to get a contiguous mesh at the interfaces.
