FAST Instream was just installed on one of our servers. As a consequence our searching for ProE files is messed up.
I'm looking for some real world advice on how to find ProE files using FAST.
How it used to work
a keyword search like
AAA10-12345*.drw
Would only return the drawing files that started with the string "AAA10-12345" and ended with the string ".drw" And it would find those strings in Name, Number, & File Name. If you copy a cad file, one or more of those fields can be out of sync with the others and retain the Name of the original file you copied it from.
For our CAD designers this type of search common and the results were as expected.
FAST search issues
According to tpi 137964 FAST considers .,:,-, and _ to be white space.
Since dashes and underscores are used in virtually all our CAD files, I'm at a loss as how to formulate a keyword search query that will only return results that begin with one string and end with another string.
Any ideas? Insite?
