Sheet metal import step file with variable thickness

Hello!
I want to import a press-fit pin tip with variable thickness (stp file). It can be imported only as a sheel, and if I want to generate a stp file afterwards, it won't show the pin tip anymore.

It is a way to solve this problem?

Why can you only import the STEP file into a sheet metal part?

Separate the stamped geometry from the solid geometry and create and assembly prior to exporting. You should be able to use flexible modeling and import data doctor to control what is imported from the STEP source file and modify it once imported.

It is difficult to see the issue without the models. Can you post the STEP file you are working with as a source?

Thank you very much for your idea. I end up by making an assy with the press-fit  pin tip and the leadframe.
