Simulation of a kind of wooden rope

Hi everybody,

I have a part that is like a crop (for horses riding).
It's made of 4 wood wires (stalks).
The wires are twisted together, like a rope or a hardwire.

When the part is subject to heat and humidity, the twist tends to "unroll" and the wires become more straight.

So my aim is to analyse the part with mechanica for designing a reinforcement part.

I have to simulate the internal stress that make the wires to untwist.
I don't need to simulate heat and humidity, I just need to make something that would have the same mechanical effect.

So I would need any advice on what kind of load I should use to simulate the stress that make the helical to untwist.

Thanks for any advice,
GB
