Slow Printing w/ True Type Fonts in Creo 2.0

Different times I've tried to change my font in Creo drawings to a Windows TTF to improve it's appearance and make it more legible. After doing so, the time it takes to print the drawing increases from seconds to several minutes.

I'm not sure if it's a Creo issue or a printer issue. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?

You can sort out the printer as a problem by using print to file with both cases.

if you print drawing containing TTF font, then:

1.] you can set two options at Creo side

• Use TrueType Fonts ... quick print, generated print file is small, printer must be able to process TTF fonts
• Stroke All Fonts ... slow print, generated print file is very large (because TTF texts are converted to lines)

2.] you can check printer properties in Windows, some printers have two options how to process print file

• process print file on printer ... slow print, because printer's processor is slow
• process print file on PC ... quick print, if PC's processor is quick
