Stress Linearization at Predefined points on the surface

Hi,

I am doing customization in pro/mechanica in which i need to extract stress linearized data at specific points. Can anyone give me suggestion on how to do it through a macro or measure option in mechanica.

Manually, i am doing by following method in result window-> Model -> Stress -> Linearized and select two points of interest from the cloud data. But i was not able to get the data in exact location where i required.

Dear Prasad,

You can guide the mesh by adding surface curves or 'seed points' before
meshing and, in the latter case, adjusting the Autogem settings such that
the software cannot move or delete existing points. This should enable you
to locate plotting points at either end of the exact section on which you
wish to obtain linearised data. Alternatively, if the component is simple
enough, you could use Independent mode and manually create a mesh with
regular brick and wedge type elements which makes it far easier to 'line-up'
plotting points for subsequent extraction of linearised stresses at a wider
range of locations.

I would also note that if you work within Independent mode, you are provided
with the option to turn off the entire point cloud when displaying results,
and can show just the surface points which are of principal interest, or
even just element edges. You can also create new groups containing selected
elements which can help to simplify visualisation and results extraction
from complex parts.

As regards the use of measures / macros, I am not aware of any way in which
linearised stress extraction can be done automatically, but I would be very
interested to hear from anyone who does know a method.

Regards,

Simon White.
