Text Thickness

Hello all,

I need to change the text thickness in my drawing as when I print it, the text is thick and unclear. Is there a way to change the thickness without highlighting each and every piece of text to change it? I use Creo Elements/ Pro. I use it very rarely so an idiots guide would help!

Thanks in advance

Are you printing a drawing (.drw) to a printer or are you printing to a .pdf?

I printed both and get the same result.

File->Drawing Options->text_thickness (in my drawing options config).

Try this and see if it works for you.

Thanks, Dale (Creo/WF5)

If you are using true type fonts (TTF), you cannot change the text thickness. If you are using the default style fonts, Dale's drawing option will set this. But if it already set to 0.0000, that doesn't do much good.

Furthermore, if you are printing to PDF, are you using the "Stroke all fonts" setting? If not, you are getting a TTF on the PDF... -if- you are using the internal "export to PDF". If you are using an external printer driver for PDF, you will have even more issues.

Please provide the additional information as to what your setup is like. Most people find just the opposite to be the case with the default install and printing text and dimension leader lines.

Dale,

Thanks for your reply but I can't find this option.

I've gone into: Tools-->Options but cant find text thickness.

I can change line thickness but not text.

The closest option I can find is ttf_handling_for_plot_files which is set to use TRUE TYPE FONTS

You need to find the detail options when you are in a drawing. Not sure where they are for Elements/Pro.
