Trailmaker 0.3

Trailmaker 0.3

Trailmaker is now a collection of small utilities:

1 - Trailmaker

A script to build customized trailfiles, to process files in batch mode.

Here some ideas that you can make this script work for you:

Export multiple parts to Step/Iges

Import multiple Iges/Steps to Prt´s

Export multiple Drawings to DXF/DWG/PDF

Export/verify all instances of a family table

Bring multiple parts/drawings into session

Plot a lot of drawings

Run a mapkey

Change/add/delete Parameters

Modify Units/Mass Properties

Create Jpeg´s of multiple parts

Mix all this together...

Lots of possibilities.

2 - Assembler

Script to assemble components (by default) in a assembly in batch mode;

3 - FT-Drawing

Script to create drawings for each instance of a family table;

Video Link : 5305

4 - New_Drw

Script to create a new drawing with same name of the active model;

4 - Open_Drw

Script to open a existing drawing with same name of the active model;

Thank you for attaching the .zip file.

Hi,

Can you upload the videos again?

The link is broken or maybe the files were deleted.

Thanks in advance.

@Jose_Costa Please check it.

Not sure what happened to the vídeos, I uploaded them  to community servers long time ago,  now they seem to have been deleted. I´ll try to create new vídeos and upload  to Youtube instead.

@Jose_Costa Sorry to bring back this old thread, but I'm having trouble using your trailmaker. I can't get any of it to do anything. Maybe I'm missing something here. Are there certain options I need to set? I'm not seeing any trail files in my work location.

Here's what I'm trying to do:

I have a family table that I want to export JPEGs of each model.

I have map keys set up for everything, I just need it to automatically go through the family table opening files and then running the mapkeys. What do I need to do for this?

Here's the overall workflow:

open next line in family table

run mapkey that sets the correct render scene, choose saved orientation, refits model to screen, renders window

run mapkey that saves a copy as JPEG.

I have the mapkeys set up (for some reason I couldn't get both to run with one mapkey.)

How do I use your trailmaker to open the family table instance and then run the mapkeys and then close the window and then repeat?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Could You reupload file, please.

Any chance this script is still around? The link on dropbox has been deleted.

Being able to save out instances of a family table in STEP file format would be great and would save a lot of time.

Thanks

Thanks Chris3,

I have got the file. I am having some trouble with the install instructions.

How do I perform step 3?

Install Instructions:
1 - Copy TrailMaker.zip to c:\
2 - Unzip the file (path "c:\Trailmaker\" must exist, if you use another path, change trailmaker.ini anth the path inside mapkeys)
3 - Open C:\Trailmaker\mapkeys.txt and copy the mapkeys to inside your Config.pro
4 - Save Config.pro
5 - Done

Thanks,

To be clear - I don't actually use this tool, I was just trying to be helpful.

To answer your question though, inside the zip file there is a file called mapkeys.txt. Open that with notepad and then paste the contents into your config.pro file at the load point of Creo. The load point is going to be different for every company, but if you right click on the shortcut you use to launch Creo and click properties on the shortcut tab there will be a "start in" field. The path that specified there is your Creo load point.
