Understanding Mass Properties

Hi, I find the mass propertis dialog box very confusing. I have added a density for a part (steel, 7.85g/cubic centimeter, 0.00785g/cubic mm). The text it comes up with is: VOLUME = 5.9925880e+06 MM^3 SURFACE AREA = 2.4004595e+06 MM^2 DENSITY = 7.8500000e-03 KILOGRAM / MM^3 MASS = 4.7041816e+04 KILOGRAM Does this mean the mass is 47041 Kg (by moving the decimal point right by 4 places)? Is there a clearer way to get the mass of a model without having to use 'to the power of' figures?

You're reading the value correctly, however, the density value is not the same as the one you have given. Density should be 7.85e-6 kilogram/mm^3. I don't think you can change how it is reported.

you can put up a relation - Weight = PRO_MP_MASS*9.81 here add WEIGHT as a parameter. You can see the weight in Parameters dialog box.
