Why does it take so long to "recover" from a regen failure?

All,

Can anyone tell me why it takes so long for Pro/E to "recover" after a
model has failed?

We are using family tables verify the full set of instances a number of
times throughout the design. Let's say the first 1000 features
regenerate ok, but 1001 fails. Pro/E then goes back and "recovers" by
seemingly regenerating the first 1000 features again before moving on to
verify the next instance in the family table. Why does this happen and
is there any way to change the behavior so it just moves on immediately
when a feature fails?

Thanks,
