adding downloaded Creo parts into start parts

To all,

I am working in Creo 3.0, with Windchill 10.2, and I am trying to use a CAD model from a vendor, that is downloadable in a Creo format. I want to take and import the downloaded part into my companies start part, so I get all of the parameters we use.

I thought in Wildfire you could do this. Am I not able to directly import a Creo part file into a part startpart with Creo?

Dennis

Do not use the downloadable Creo format file. Unless it was actually created in Creo and has the full model tree, it will cause much grief later. Instead download a STEP (.stp) or IGES (.igs) file. Both of these can be imported into your company's start parts. (During import there is an option to select the template model to use.)

Tom,

They were Creo2 files, but i think making a step and inserting that will be my best bet.

Thanks.
