how to remove a created surface

wildfire 3.0

I created an offset surface (Offset 1) so that a can make a recessed cut in a part (thicken cut) up to Offset 1 (step 1.). After making this recessed cut, is there a way to remove Offset 1? The offset surface is appearing in a 2nd part after performing a Cut Out feature (step 2.). Hiding Offset 1 in the 1st part does not seem to get rid of the surface appearing in 2nd part.

Layers, my friend....

I need to poll the audience on geometry preselecting issues. I have a huge
file that was exported out of Catia and brought into Pro as an imported
file. The part is so large, that when cruising over the geometry, the
preselecting hangs up and the graphics lag behind until all the geometry is
highlighted, this is almost unbearable let alone the brightness to one's
eyes. My question to all you folks: has anybody found a way to turn
preselecting of on one part if an asm but still have it activated for the
other parts in the asm. Currently running a 3 gb graphics card

We turn on/off pre-selecting all the time with ease. Use the smart filter selection drop down box and change the smart filter from "Smart" to "Annotate". This will temporarily turn off pre-selecting and makes a world of difference. Easy to change back again, too.

Hi,
In line with Bob's comment I have mapkeys for the filters. fs for filter
smart, fa for filter annotate etc.
