metal wall

to lighten a mold cavity box I want to hollow out the backside to 1" metal wall.  how do i do that easy?

either there is a way I'm not seeing or what I have tried doesn't work properly.

I'm using Creo 4.  and I have the Tool Design Option.

Thanks ,

Daryl

I think your description of the problem is too vague. Can you include a picture of what you are trying to do?

Just from your description, you can just extrude a cut up to an offset surface (or datum plane if the surface is flat)

upload a picture or better yet an example model.  someone would probably take a look.

but considering there are many ways to skin this type of cat, it's important to know what type of cat this is.

is it the tool you want to thin out? is it the part? is it for a casting? exactly what?

shelling things or locally thinning a part is not a big deal but there isn't a one size fits all auto-wall-thin function.

Have you tried to shell it?
