shrinkwrap quality

Hi

what means the "quality" button in shrinkwrap?

Is it a relation of the size of parts to eachother (1=10% less partvolume is included) or is it a relation of accuracy (1=10% less accuracy is included)?

Hi Vito...

Quality is for setting the accuracy of the shrinkwrap. A lower number, like 1, is the least accurate and will produce very scattered results. Increasing the accuracy gives you better results at the expense of larger file size.

However, there's always been a "secret" way to fool the system into giving you a PERFECT quality shrinkwrap while keeping the file size low without tweaking the quality setting at all.

Luckily, in Wildfire 5, PTC has actually mainstreamed this secret. Look into the new ENVELOPE functionality that also incorporates a shrinkwrap. You can select "Shrinkwrap all solid surfaces" with the click of a button. This is the same technique I've used for years to get a high accuracy shrinkwrap with a low quality setting.

There's too much to cover in one email... but take a look in the help files. That should give you a great start.

Thanks!

-Brian
