sometimes its the simple things

You know, for all that we gripe about the UI changes to pro/e, sometimes
it's the little things that make me say, "Dang, that's nice." Today it was
when I had to make several reference patterns, and when you have to do
several in a row, you realize how sweet it is that you can do that with 4
mouse clicks with minimal mouse movement (select component in the model tree
> RMB > Pattern > middle click to ok Reference pattern)

Amen to that.

I get a kick every time I build a sequence of features, then go RMB /
Pattern / OK / RMB / Pattern / OK / RMB / Pattern / OK - and it just
works. Reference patterns are fantastic.

Jonathan

I know that feeling from only last week - Yes, it's very neat:

And then the project manager comes along (this morning) and says 'Of course
they are all Component A, except those three are Component B and that one is
Component C'. And you realise that you have to completely re-define your
patterns to dimension or table patterns, because you can't white dot items
out of ref patterns in WF2!

Grrrr!

John

John,

If you move to a later release of ProENGINEER then you have this
ability.

Please see the attached video

Just the other day I mad a cut using quilts and was left with some small slivers of solid left. In between head scratchings of trying to come up with a plan to get rid of them, I poked around and found the "remove" feature. Click the surface, click remove, MMB done. Presto! Jaw-dropping. When did they add that gem?

The designer in ear-shot, in response to my "I freakin' love Pro/E!" said, "when are you going to make up your mind?" (referring to the incidence of my exclaiming first love, then hate... repeat 10x per day)

ref patterns rock, too.

It's definately a love/hate relationship with (Creo Elements/) Pro. Happy
modeling
