CREO is way more suitable to create 3d plots with than Excel.
I created random coordinates within "parametric shapes" (sphere, cylinder and cone) in excel and imported these as datum points in CREO 2.0. Then I patterned small revolved circles on all datum points with a few clicks. Now I think I basically know how parametric shapes work.
