convex surfaces and shell/thicken command

hey guys!

I'm new to the creo, currently using creo2. I want to design a plastic cover that has all outter surfaces curved to the outside (convex) because straight surfaces can cause many issues when injection moulding.

I attached the file, bellow is the procedure:

  • I used a blend function with top and bottom section - i tried with surface blend + thicken and solid blend + shell
  • I used a boundary blend (surfaces) to create the top curved part (1/4) and then pattern.
  • I tried with surfaces + merge + thicken but it returns an error
  • I tried with solid blend for bottom part and surface + fill + merge + solidify for top and then shell and it also returns an error.

I suspect the way I chose to create the top curved part might not be ok, but I ran out of ideas.

nevermind, solved it myself with a sweeped top curved surface, projected outline and boundary blend to the bottom sketch.

I suppose my first version of the top curved surface was not "shell-able"
