Default setting to resize graphics in AE 6.1?

We are getting PDF page oversets for some of the graphics, but there are no scalefit/width/depth attributes on our graphic or sheet elements. Is there a setting or preference to get AE 6.1 to automatically resize graphics to fit on the page? We can't change the DTD.

mentioned using putgraphs and fillval if the graphics are defined as entities, which they are. I really only want the oversized graphics to be affected.

fillval attname="gnbr" attloc="sheet" fillcat="putgraph" fillchar="graphname">

ACL could use the graphic_oid_size function to check each graphic and determine if the graphic size exceeds the allowed dimensions. If so, the FOSI would fillval the graphic entity name into a putgraph category that is coded with the desired graphic dimensions.

The ACL could be called from the FOSI with SYSTEM-FUNC, or a preprint process could be used to set a pseudo-attribute on graphic elements for the FOSI to check. If there are a lot of graphics, the SYSTEM-FUNC approach might slow the formatting speed. Since pseudo-attribute values are stored in the document, the preprint process would only be needed if the document has changed -- specifically if a graphic has been added -- since the previous formatting.

Good luck!
