X-section view in Assembly

Is there a better way to make a x-sectional view in assembly mode than by creating an Assembly Datum (ADTM) through an existing Part Datum (DTM)? Seems redundant...

Wondering if there is a quicker way to toggle Reference Dimensions (annotations) on and off in a part or assembly without having to use layers...such as the axis icon.

Doug,

That is a head scratcher. I am under the initial impression that layering is
your best answer. I am getting ready to eat that statement though. I am sure
that there are better ways of doing sorting out reference dimensions. That's
why we have such a wonderful forum here.
