Help with UDF's

Hi all,

can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong in my use of user defined features. I read in the help notes that udf's are dependant upon the source model if the "subordinate" option is taken, so why if i make a change to that source model does the udf not reflect that change, ie. does not update, is there a specific way of regenerating the udf?

Regards

John

This can be confusing because there are two levels of dependency. If a UDF is subordinate it means that the UDF itself is dependent upon the original model in which it was defined. This says nothing about the model in which it will be inserted. When you insert the UDF into a new model you are given a choice to make it dependent; this is where you establish a relation that will cause the model where it is used to change when the UDF is changed. You can have either, neither, or both "dependencies" in place.
