If I ever get my hands on the person

If I ever get my hands on the person

NO, that's not correct... I have M090 and MANY of the fixes were in
that version. From what I remember of an email posted from someone at
PTC who seemed to be in charge of this a while back there was only ONE
minor improvement added on in M100...

I stand corrected; analysis functions were to be fixed in M080 but were pushed back to M090, not from M090 to M100.

Many apologies.

Late summary.. I know.. I've been very busy lately..

the only tip was to make sure I select Use as Datum (which in the build we
are on, is not Default)

Sounds like maybe you are being "mislead" by the horrible job ptc did with
displaying the results in the analysis tool. The distance is shown with
odd angular leader lines, BUT the actual distance is reported correctly.
Try measuring something you KNOW the length of. Also, I would highly
recommend upgrading to build M090 or better. They made great improvements
in the analysis feature... still not perfect, and still a bit
frustrating... but it is better.

what I did to keep my boss from wanting Wildfire 3. I had him pull up a
model in Wildfire 2 and do some plane to plane measurements, so easy a
manager can do it. Then I had him open Wildfire 3 and try the same thing.
He cussed PTC for a while and asked if other new CAD packages were easier
to use.
