Oh how I wish...

Pro/E programs,

Oh how I wish, that the button for 'rotate to sketcher plane' button was a toggle button.

At least we have the "previous orientation" choice in the view menu...

You could put the Previous Orientation button right next to the Sketch Orientation on your menu bar

put your wishes into action :

You will need a PTC Account for a login PTC wants to hear from you !!

Don't kid yourself the Entire enhancement request process is a joke. The only way to get anything done is to have your PTC account rep submit it for you and then PAY yes I said pay to have the functionality created.

Well, all I was after was to lock the sketching view. I did put in an enhancement, right after I wrote the e-mail. Maybe, it'll die maybe it won't. I did my part. I wrote in this forum hoping to get it pushed to the forefront

I just have a 40 meg model that utilizes 1+gig of RAM. I do sketches with hidden wireframe on. A slight rotate may take me out of action for 5-10 minutes, each time.

Thank you to all,

I agree. I have to slow down when in sketch mode; last thing a new release
of Pro/E should do to a user. Drives me nuts to have the sketch view moving
around.
As far as request of enchantments, one needs to be on a tech committee. Some
tech committees are closed to new memberships but other are looking for
people.
Your request should be forwarded to the modeling tech committee, otherwise
it will fade away.

Enhancements do not just fade away when submitted to PTC...They are get reviewed by PTC (first) and then the Tech Committees at our meetings.

All enhancements are a valuable asset to PTC in there development process and to the TC's for understanding what the user community is looking for.

This is the best suggestion I have seen. Although I have never been on a
TC, I have worked with several people who are or were.

They are the drivers of the enhancements. They are who PTC really listens
too. As an individual, you have little, if any pull, but as a TC member,
your voice, and your company’s voice will be heard.

So if you have a contact who is on a TC, get into his head…

Technical commitee participants:

How much does participating in a technical committee cost:
Hours/year?
Travel expense?
Other expenses?

Which TC(s) voted to enhance feature creation by eliminating the ability to
leave sketched features incomplete?

The documentation says this is possible, but Sketch and Cancel (deleting
-all- work) are the only two options.

From the WF2.0 docs...
To leave a feature incomplete when creating a feature:
1. Choose OK from the dialog box.
2. When the system asks you if you want to leave the feature incomplete,
choose
Yes.
3. You can exit Sketcher with an incomplete section by choosing Done from
the SKETCHER menu.
4. To finish an incomplete feature, redefine and complete the definition of
all required elements.
At least it can't be 'intended functionality'. Perhaps an enhancement
request that the docs reflect the software?
