SmartLibrary for Pro/ENGINEER
(http://www.sigmaxim.com/html/smartlibrary.html) is the automated
alternative to standard Pro/E libraries and is 5-10 times faster. It
TOTALLY ELIMINATES the problem of hole misalignments between parts as well
as problems of screw-thread mismatches by doing the repetitive, error-prone
feature creation (holes, counterbores, threads, etc) for you. SmartLibrary
is Intralink compatible and many people use it for their existing library
parts (even nested family tables), although a library of fasteners is
provided with the software.

When a fastener such as a screw is selected, all the associated hardware
(washers, nuts, etc.) and necessary features (counterbores, drilled holes,
threads, etc) are automatically assembled and created. Features are created
at PART level and there is an option to maintain references to the assembly
for position, or break the references and create an independent dimensioning
scheme for the features within the part.

The quick preview GUI provided with the software makes selection of the
correct size fastener, with associated hardware, a snap. SmartLibrary also
promotes standardization of fasteners, and custom parts and assemblies
within your company.
