Webcast Q&A

Question from JorgeHow can I split a solid's surface using an imprinted curve?  Is it possible?

Answer:  You would always need to have a surface for that.  For example you would need to create 4 imprinted curves to create a surface.  With Creo 7, we have the Split Body Command.

Webcast Q&A

Question from EricI've often wondered why I would use a spline over a well defined curve.  Do you have other applications that splines are preferred, similar to "cleaning up" surface breaks?

Answer:  It's all about surface quality.  With the Style feature we have direct editing of that spline to really create high order surfaces.

Webcast Q&A

Question from KevinWith Multi-bodies, can Windchill track each body as a separate part?

Answer:  Yes, with Windchill 12, separate bodies can be tracked.  This was demonstrated during our Multi-Body Session.

Webcast Q&A

Question from GeorgeWas "replace" command previously called "patch" command?

Answer:  It has always been replace.  Patch would often describe a different approach for creating a surface.

Webcast Q&A

Question from GeoffHow is the plane determined for the visual mirror...?

Answer:  When selecting Visual Mirror it will prompt you for a Plane.

Webcast Q&A

Question from JordanFor parameter functions such as "trapjar", is there a short list directory that lists these and their uses?

Answer:  Some examples are in the Help.  I can't paste a link here but just do a search on trapjar.

Webcast Q&A

Question from Raghu:  Is it possible to create a separate drawing print for each body (within the same part)?

Answer:  Yes, this is possible.

Question from RaghuSo, with multi-body approach, Creo does not have so much of an issue with disjointed pieces of geometry>  Hope it does not get confused with mass properties😉

Answer:  You can have an unlimited amount of Bodies and each body can have its own Material and mass properties.  These are not confused.
