Question from Chris:  If you had fixed fasteners on the unbent walls, can you use that simplified rep still to make a flat version but with the fixed fasteners moved with the bends?

Answer:  You need to create a CSys on the wall with follow surface option.  Then you can use External Copy Geom, assemble CSys to CSys and also use "follow surface" option.  This will make the body brought in via ECG follow bend/unbend.  Multi-Body Parts in Sheetmetal 

Question from Chris:   Any quick note on what inseparable assemblies does for Windchill Data Management view?

Answer:  This creates a single object in the BOM no matter how many parts you have.

Question from Chris:  What happens if the PEM was used in more than one sheetmetal "assy-as-inseparable", is it possible for one embedded PEM called PEM-m6.prt to be different than another embedded into another place?

Answer:  Yes it is possible.

Question from Chris:  When did the fancier UI for bend order come along?

Answer:  Creo 4.0, I believe.

Question from Dean:  When you bring an inseparable assembly into Creo, will you see the embedded parts in the model tree?

Answer:  Yes.  These will be a different icon.

Question from Dean:  Can you replace an embedded part with another part and how would you do that; i.e. one PEM with a different size?

Answer:  Yes - using Intelligent Fastener Extension.  There is also the possibility of replacing parts from the same family table.

Question from Jon:  We create a lot of automotive panels that are created from a class A surface set.  Is there any ongoing development for flattening or blank development for these types of parts?

Answer:  FTI has a tool called FastBlank for flattening of non-developable surfaces with material properties.  If you are only trying to approximate what the flat will look like, you can use the Flatten Quilt functionality in Creo.

Question from Keo:  Extrude feature / Solid Body can be created as BOM?

Answer:  With Creo 8.0 and Windchill 12, the BOM can be whatever you want it to be.  In 7.0, the solid body can only be within the part.

Question form Patrick:  When using Simplified Representations for flat patterns, is there an option to allow us to skip adding the representation to the drawing manually?  This would save time and number of clicks  during drawing creation.

Answer:  Unfortunately not.  You need to place the view and change the rep.
