Merge Print, that is, merge some small scale drawing files together to a large scale one, then output to plotter or printer, to improve efficiency and save paper. For example, a A0 size paper, can merge 2 A1 ones, or 4 A2 ones, or 8 A3 ones, or 16 A4 ones. If mixed merge print, a A0 size paper, can merge "1 A1" + "1 A2" + "1 A3" + "2 A4".
Drawing printing, is an important process for company. There are many types and quantities of drawing files for manufacturing enterprise. For example, A4 and A3 drawing files are frequently used. Typically, it is printed one by one. This is low efficiency and paper wasting. And the user is difficult to view all the drawing files, since there are not in one large paper. To resolve this issue, some softwares provide functionality of merge print, and allow batch printing.
ProENGINEER is 3D CAD/CAM/CAE solution created by PTC, do machine design for manufacturing company. Its default Print functionality can only print one by one, cannot merge print. However, many manufacturing companies wish that ProENGINEER can merge print drawing files.
