I am working on a project and would like to know if it is possible to access the images used when placing UDFs with the out-of-the-box UDF functionality. I want to place the UDF programmatically using named planes, axes, etc. However, if a plane, axis, or other feature is not found, I would like to show an image to help the user select the correct feature. Currently, I can place a UDF fully if all the named planes and features exist. I am looking for ways to handle situations where features are not found.
As far I remember you have only images if you store the reference model as well. In this case you can open the model in a sub window for help, for image creation the model must be open in a window. You can do this and save an image after shortly displaying the model, I would cache the image, next time you have just an image to be displayed. Access the image from the model is not possible as far I know.
I have no idea how much UDF's you need to support, but if possible I would provide images with some help create in Powerpoint or an other graphics tool.
