Hi. My company is in the process of purchasing an Amada FO-NT laser. We currently use NC/Sheetmetal to generate our programs for a Whitney plasma/punch. We are being strongly advised against using NC/Sheetmetal with the new Amada. Does anybody know of any companies who aresuccessfully using NC/Sheetmetal in conjunction with an Amada laser? Any horror stories?

generally speaking and if there is a post-processor available for the machine, I see no reason to change the software that you use and you are familiar with.
If I was in your position, I would start programming the machine with Pro/NC Sheetmetal for a period of time. After this period, I would able to assess the whole programming process.
In the meantime you can ask for a demonstration and for an evaluation copy of the software that they are proposing to you.
