So you have Prime installed on your computer. I suppose it 'works' when you start the program, but possibly in Express mode, because you haven't (yet) got a license for it. That should be fine for now, you don't need a license to run it in express mode, but this mode lacks some of Prime's functionality.
To find out if you are running in Express mode, type
mean(1=
and see if the result is 1 (full mode) or an error (express mode).
Once you are ready to try out the full functionality of Prime, you can apply for a license by going to the Options (left-click on the circled M in the upper left corner, choose options). Then on the License tab, you should press the "Get License" button and it should guide you to getting a trial license. If you successfully obtained a trial license, that should be reflected on the license tab of Options. The trial license should help you out for a maximum of 30 days. In the mean time you can contact PTC support (that's NOT this forum) to help you out with buying a subscription for the student edition.
Of course, if you are happy enough with the Express functionality, you don't need a subscription at all, since it is free for life.
Success!
