Mathcad Prime express - remote access?

Hello!  I' a grumpy old retired curmudgeon who occasionally is asked to step in and review some of the young'uns work at my previous firm. This year, they finally gave up and transitioned from Mathcad 15 to Prime 11.  However, they use node-locked licenses; therefore The grunpu Old Man cannot remotely open their worksheets for review. If I were to install Prime 11 Express on the remote machine (or on my home machine), could I open the sheets made with the full version for review, even if all the features they may have used to make the sheet don't work for me?  (this is two questions in one, actually - remote access must be solved first...)

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

I know that Prime Express will open a file created with fully licensed Prime. You can see any stored results, but if they depend on any Premium functionality, then making changes will result in an error message to that fact. You can partly work around that by incorporating the worksheet posted here:"https://community.ptc.com/t5/Mathcad/Prime-Express-A-joke/m-p/604216

Unfortunately 'include worksheet' doesn't work in Express. That is, you need to copy expressions over, or the entire area. See the file for info.

You can safely install Prime 11 on your home machine and see how much you can, and cannot, do with your former colleagues files. Then decide if it suffices as is, or with the help of the Express additions, or that you really need a full version.

If you do need a fully functional, note there's a possibility to try that for (one!) trial period of 30 days. You don't need to request the trial period right away, you can do that at any time. So you can first see what the limitations are of Prime Express. At the end of the 30 day trial Prime (re-)turns to Express mode.

Prime Express (as far as I know, have experience with) can be started via remote access. I think that for remotely starting fully licensed Prime, a different type of license is required. There also seems to be a license (reduced price) for retirees. You could negotiate with your former employer to pay for that license in return for your work....Note that licenses are yearly fees.

Success!
