Algebraic manipulation of a diferential equation

I�ve got a logistic equation. To evaluate it in respect to an exponential solution it needs some algebraic manipulation. MathCAD will do this for me of course but it won�t show all the stages of the manipulation and just for once I wanted to check the stages. And guess what I seem to have developed a mental block.

Can anyone give me an idea as to the protocol why a +1/p is chosen.

It's a partial fraction decomposition. And how Mathcad got it probably has little to do with how you would do it manually.

You also have a serious error in the original equation, with the denominator applying p as a function rather than multiplying by p.
