Hello everyone....
I was in the process of making a program (attached), but received an error ("this variable is undefined") for the second "break" command, which you should all be able to see.
I do not understand why I have this error. I have looked at the 'f1' help...which is usually of no actual help.....and I have looked over what I have many times and I'm not seeing the mistake.
Could someone take a look please and see if anything looks wrong?
Thanks

I DID use the "break" command from the menu......for both. Iknow to do that, I did that, and
Telling from the file you sent it didn't looked that way. I was able to delete the word break (both) letter for letter. This is not possible if it was inserted from the menu/palette or via keyboard shortcut. I replaced them for the break from the palette and bingo, no error.
Looks like you typed the word "break" (twice). You need to select it from the programming menu (twice).
Alan
"break" is a keyword and as with the other keywords like "return", "for", etc. you are not allowed to type it in, you have to take it from the programming toolbar/palette.
To Alan and Werner....
Thank you for responding.
WELL....
I think I'm done for the day.
I DID use the "break" command from the menu......for both. Iknow to do that, I did that, and received the error that I could not subsequently fix.
After I closed the program, opened it again, deleted each "break" word, and (re)entered it from the pallet, the error went away.
(SIGH)
Mathcad really wears me out.
Thank you both. Had I not asked, and you had no answered, I would probably not have done what I dod to fix the error. I will try to give you both 'best answer....but I will start with the first responder. If I can't award both of you as best....know I regard you that way and I thank you both.
Why is it when I click both these answrers as "Helpful Answer"....it shows up as "Unhelpful Answer"?
I frickin' give up.
Happy to clarify, seems to be some user confusion here. First, I can assure you that the answers have both been "Marked as Helpful".
Since you (the original poster) are the only one who can mark answers to this discussion as helpful or correct you are also the only one that has the option to "Unmark as Helpful" (which is what you're seeing). It's a setting only you and the Community admins can see, everyone else sees that you have marked both Alan and Werner's answers to your question as helpful.
Ryan...
Thanks for that. After wrestling with the program I was working on and things seemingly changing, and/or not working and becoming frustrated, nothing was making any sense. After so many things that should have been 'common sense' in my program not operating in that way, I knew I was done for the day!

Thanks Werner....
I am about to give this a go once again.
I understand what you are saying. I opened the program just now, and the "break" word is now all one word.....not separate letters. I don't understand what was going on yesterday. Maybe mathcad was caught in some mode where it didn't refresh, maybe it was just me, but what you said was/is a good reality check that I will always keep in mind.
Thanks again for the help.
