Hello everyone !

How do I solve this rigidity matrix exemplified below. I am using Mathcad Prime 3.0, I can not progress in the calculation. The goal is to find all the displacements.

Can you help me ?

You are missing to solve for u1 compared to the solution by DrilonShabani

That way u1 is never defined. Of course you could manually define u1:=0 somewhere in your sheet.

But why aren't you just using the smaller matrix like

And there are also other ways to get the values without having to use the symbolic solve command. The first two of the following could also be evaluated symbolically, if you really need the exact fraction values.

Of course these methods would also work for the 5x5 matrix
