Line breaks in solution

I have the 30 day trial. I've run into a formatting issue. How does on force the solutions of a problem to word wrap? Here is the problem I was working on ... I wanted to experiment on creating handouts for students. I defined x(t):= A cos(w t) + B sin(w t) on one line and then typed (in mathcad format) x''(t) + 4 x'(t) + 29 x(t) -> below it. That and the simplification took more than one line and moved onto another page. I did fix it by switching to portrait mode, but I would much rather have word wrap onto the next line. For those who are interested, the handout discusses practical resonance in the DE x''(t) + 4x'(t) + 29x(t) = 2 cos(w t).

For the result of a symbolic evaluation that is unfortunately not possible, although it is a long standing request. If you are entering the expression yourself you can force a new line at a + using Ctrl Enter. Richard

Yes, that would be extremely nice for handouts. I don't think it will affect what my students give me (if we adopt this program) as they can submit the mathcad files to me electronically. It would be nice if PTC fixes this problem before I need to use the program next spring.

You could also copy the result and paste below, then add a line break operator, and collect and simplify if you wish. Could also create a new fucntion with the result on the RHS to make easier to plot. Can make a little shorter by making function with the DE on the RHS and then symbolically solving the function, instead of operating on the longer DE direclty. You also have the option to solve symbilically in inline, or not. If you select, say solve, for the Symbolic menu, it will place the result independly form the orignal equation, and manipulate just like above. hope this was of some help Wayne Wayne
