Mathcad prime 11 free trial - converter not converting files

Hi all

I'm at the start of the free trial period.  i have the converter installed and have tried to convert files.  The converter acts like the files are converted and sent to the source folder but the conversion does not take place.  I cant access other support so hope you can help - thanks

I understand that you had checked the box to install the converter as well when you installed Prime and are basically able to load legacy files into the converter.

Do you have write privileges at the destination file path?

Is there any message when you use the converter?

When a conversion was successful you should see something like this

and in the directory where the legacy file is saved, Prime should have created two new files - <filename>.xmcd, the converted Prime file, and <filename>.xmcd.xml, the log file.

thanks for the reply - i receive messages exactly as you showed and i have write privileges.  the original MCD files are the only ones there when i check the folder but no additional converted files

That's strange, indeed.

If you can post one of those mcd files I would try to see if I am able to convert it.

If you right click the line with the filename after the conversion you should be offered the option "Open Converted File". What happens if you click this option?

Another idea. I vaguely remember reports that Prime had problems with clouddrives, etc. Not sure if this affected the converter. Are the files to be converted are saved on a local drive or on a network or cloud drive? If the latter. you may try to copy the file to a local drive and convert it from there.

copying it from its cloud location appears to be a solution - many thanks for your help
