Using Excel (2007) components in Mathcad 15

Hi,

I am using Mathcad 15 on a Windows 7 (64bit) platform. Excel 2007 is also installed on my machine.

An excel component can be inserted into a Mathcad worksheet (using the wizzard) without any problems, but as soon as I try to klick on the excel component / try to modify it, Mathcad crashes completely.

This happens with a newly inserted excel component as well as with reopened worksheets that used to work fine with Mathcad 14/Excel 2003.

I reinstalled Mathcad, repaired/reinstalled Excel, but it still doesn't work.

Does anyone have the same problem or can give me some good advice what to do?

Thanks,

Cathleen

Hi Cathleen

I've had the same problem.

Probably you are running Mathcad 15.0 datacode F000?

This problem is resolved in datacode M005 and higher.

Geert Keizer

Hello!

Install the latest version of Mathcad 15 M010. List of fixed bugs can be found here: http://communities.ptc.com/message/165872

Could you please let me know where I can download this release?

Well, if you have paid for active maintence, here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/auth/it/esd/index.jsp

Thank you for the link, I could now download and install Mathcad 15 M010!

I was searching for the new release everywhere, but was experiencing some troubles with my account.

Now I have the latest release of Mathcad 15 M010, but unfortunately the excel component still doesn't work.

It's still the same problem I had before...

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Best Regards,

Cathleen

Have you tried to add a new excel object or just opened an existing sheet with an excel object in it?

If it's an existing "old" object, this object may already be corrupted by your previous Mathcad version.

Try to delete the object and add a new one.

Geert

Hi Geert,

I tried both - opening an old worksheet with
an excel component that used to work in
former versions of Mathcad, and openning
a new mathcad sheet and including a
complete new component using the wizzard.
The component seems to work fine
(I can add input and output parameters),
but as soon es I try to edit the component
by left-clicking on it, Mathcad crashes.
If I open Excel later on, the space on
top where you edit formulas is gone
- I always have to activate it manually again.

Cathleen

Could you attach a file Mathcad?

Please contact with technical support PTC. Create a new "Case" for your issue here: http://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/case/case_logger.jsp

The problem still persists.

I opened up a technical support case - but they couldn't help me, they told me they can't reproduce the problem and then the support case was suddenly closed again.

The problem still occurs - even after a complete new installation of Windows 7 and Mathcad 15.

Is there anyone who has a solution to this problem? Or at least anyone who has the same problem?

Thank you for your reply!

Best regards.

Can you provide Mathcad worksheet with Excel component?
