Very basic AC current question
¿Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? ¿Why the calculated current is diferent from the starting data?
Please save as Mathcad 2001 if you attach a sheet, I'm using an old version.
Saludos,
Al

I think you cannot have that value of R. It is not consistent with the other values you have specified. All the power is dissapated in the resistor, so the average power is (Irms)^2 * R. That forces R to be 450 Ohms. If you make R that value it works.

Thanks Richard, I was suspicious about the data and I iterated the problem until I found that a current of 63.64 mA give a consistent answer. Your reply pointed me to make another test and I found a average power of 90 mW also give a "right" answer.
Thanks for your time, Saludos,
Al

Try Irms = Vrms/|Z|
