extract file name from data import

Hello MCers,

does anybody know a way to pry the filename from the data import wizzard?

Thanks in advance

Do it the other way. Make the file name a parameter, then you will always know what it is.

Hello Tom,

not exactly what I was looking for but a possibility

Thanks

Raiko

The data import wizard doesn't find a name. It uses a name that you provide, one way or another. If you want to know the name, just provide it in a way that you can remember and find. If the issue is the use of the wizard's browse facility, you can accomplish that using Xavier's file browsing scripts (based on list box selections).

Not clear what you want. You can have a script to scan all the file types and locate their directory. If you know the name of a work sheet lost in the hay pile, you can search if it does exist and where .
