file conversion

Does anybody know how to convert older mathcad files so they will open in mathcad14? I can't get this file to open it just says "the requested file is not a valid mathcad xml worksheet." The file is a .xmcd

No conversion needed -- MC14 can read older versions. That message does not mean that the file is an older version, but that it has been corrupted in some manner. Often the corruption is in a single region and excising that region allows the rest of the file to be read.

XMCD files are just text files. They can be opened and edited as text files. There are also tools that do XML.

If you use an XML validater, you can try saving the file, and it will show the line in the file that is corrupted. You can then fix it or delete that part of the file. I use XMLSpy.
