Modeling Express: Save as STL - Subset of parts?

Modeling Express: Save as STL - Subset of parts?

In Modeling Express, I have figured out how to save a single part as a STL using the "Select" button in the Save dialog, or I can save as STL all of the parts using the "All Objects" button in the Save dialog.  Is it possible to in the save dialog to save just a subset of the parts (meaning, more than one part but less than all parts)?

Hi BenW,

Welcome to the PTC Community!

Thank you for your question.

I’d like to recommend to bring more details and context to your initial inquiry.

It also helps to have screenshot(s) to better understand what you are trying to do in your process.

This will increase your chances to receive meaningful help from other Community members.

Regards,

Why not reorganizing your structure tree with a new assy containing just the subset of parts you export to STL. Then save just this assy.

Why not using the functionality available OOTB?

The prompt text clearly says that multiple selection is possible for this action:

"Specify the parts and assemblies for the stereolithography output. Hold SHIFT-key to select multiple items."

You can do so either in the structure browser or the view port, Also you can use the 'Selector' UI, That is just the standard mechanism of Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to select multiple items.

It seems that users are often unaware of how helpful the information of the Modeling prompt line is.
