Model Manager

The 3d models that my organization manage almost all belong to a top-level facility assembly in CED all stored in Manager Server of course. The top-level assembly is organized by rooms and the top-level assembly of each room is in a container. The vast majority of the time we are loading just sub-assemblies of the local area that we are interested in when loading from the server to CED Modeling. Occasionally we do need to load the top-level assembly when creating facility layout images for example.Over the 30+ years that we have been using CED (ME30->CoCreate->CED) the top level assembly has gotten quite large. Previously the assembly would take days to load from Manager Server but would eventually finish. Modeling performed pretty well once the load was complete.Recent attempts to load our top-level assembly have been unsuccessful. Most recently the load failed after chugging away for 10 days. In Modeling Express, I have figured out how to save a single part as a STL using the "Select" button in the Save dialog, or I can save as STL all of the parts using the "All Objects" button in the Save dialog.  Is it possible to in the save dialog to save just a subset of the parts (meaning, more than one part but less than all parts)?

Password Reset and New User Account Emails are not being sent to the users from the server. The "Send Test E-mail" button on the Enter E-mail Configuration window successfully sends emails to specified users but when resetting passwords and adding new users no emails are sent to users stored emails.The XML file has all the correct lines referenced in CASE: CS69595.

Hi, Is there any option to restore drawing in my workspace, I checked out the drawing from the server and this overwrote the latest in my local folder (there isn't any warning for that!!!)?

I have installed Task Manager on top of Model Manager, and everything seems to be working fine. I am a beginner in this area. I have assigned 3 tasks to the Task Manager, and I would like to know how I can see if these tasks have been completed. For example, where might it have saved the step conversion job once it is completed? Thanks.

I have installed the Creo Elements Direct Manager Server. All functions are working properly. However, despite having a license, the web interface is giving an error. I believe it's using a Jetty server. There might be something missing or incorrect. I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Is it possible to set different thumbnail sizes for Model_3D parts and Drawing_2D drawings in Model Manager? At the moment I have thumbnails set in the Model Manager client preference page to be 1000 x 1000. This is a good size for 3d parts but makes very small 2d drawing thumbnails. If I make the thumbnail size bigger then the 3d thumbnails start to take up my entire screen when shown. Can I set them separately in a xml file or in some other customization file?

I have a project stored in my Model Manager installation (models and drawings).   I have to send my project to my customer that is also using Creo Direct/Modeling but without Model Manager.   Is there a quick way to export model and drawings in a single zip file? The task is easy for the 3d-model, but I don't find the way to automatically collect all drawings related to this design.

When displaying the DB Properties window some attributes cannot be seen well due to the text color. Some texts/attributes in the window are shown in grey color and the background color is almost similar.   Now we need to do a "Edit" to see the details clear instead of just look to the fields.

Hello,does anyone know if it is possible to configure the Direct Manager Webserver to use https? We already know how to configure the ModelManager webservices to do that. But we also use the old Direct Manager webserver for 2D drawings and conversion of them to other formats (PDF, DXF) for the purchasing process. Regards, Thomas

By default Model Managers Quick Search tool only looks at Unique ID strings. Is it possible to broaden the Quick Search to include more attributes?

Hi Community -   I’m trying to export a complete assembly from Creo Elements/Direct Modeling 20.3.0 w/ Model Manager Extension for another partner on my project. I’d like to make sure to include the export on the Model Manager Data as well with the exported assembly. (The Model Manager extension for Creo Elements/Direct Modeling allows a user to track all of the parts within the assembly and shows the Revision History of each part. The Model manager provides details such as part names with their version, when it was imported, and the last time it was updated….)  Questions   Do any of you know if the Model Manager specific data is saved and transferred with the export of the assembly? Do we need to do something additional to export the linked Model Manager information? Does the file type/save-as matter ( .sdexp)?   Please see example images below. It looks like with the release of Creo Elements/Direct 20.2 that Model Manager is finally 64-bit! Has anyone tried it out yet?

Hello, until ModelManager 20.1 we had an option to switch to windows-like look and feel. In run.bat: set JVM_ARGS=%JVM_ARGS% -Dswing.defaultlaf=com.osm.ui.laf.ptc.PtcLaf With 20.2 this switch no longer works.   Does anyone know if there is a new switch to get what I want?   Thanks!

Hello all,   In the "Save to Model Manager" window it is possible to check a box with "Add PDF". This generates a PDF of the moment the drawing is saved and attaches it to the masterdata. After saving it and getting it checked the drawing state of the drawing is changed to released by our purchaser. The names and dates of approving and releasing are shown on the drawing, but will appear after opening the drawing again.   This information is not visible on the pdf that is generated during saving. When using the batchplot function (send to plotter), this is visible on the printed drawing. One way to get this information on the pdf in the model manager is to open the drawing in creo annotation, then under the tab Model Manager, click add pdf.    This means that our purchaser should open every drawing he releases, and click add pdf to update the drawing pdf with the approve and release information. Is there a way to do this automatically? By adding some macro script to
