User ptc-5208287 kudo'ing all posts?

Has anyone else noticed that user ptc-5208287 kudos posts almost instantly after a new post is posted regardless of what it is? This leads me to believe that this user is not a real person.

I have noticed the same behavior.

As soon as I post a comment a kudos arrives.

That's funny, I just got a kudo notification today that they kudo'd my post, today at 6:37 am

Maybe an email kudo, so they don't even log in ??? 

It's getting stranger by the minute.

And I just noticed, this list is ordered top down first then right to left?  That's ... odd.

I just posted a response to a question and within less than 10 seconds, I had a kudo from the aforementioned user.

Still getting kudo's from this user. And the user hasn't logged in to the forum since 8-13, almost a month.

Possibly internal PTC trying to make forum traffic look more than it really is?!?

The kudo makes no sense.  The original poster is asking for help and no help has been offered yet.  I don't understand the point of kudo'ing his question.

It has do be done via email and I think it started about the time the email reply/kudo links were added as an option.

I'm really thinking this is a BOT that is getting the emails and accessing the links. The email reply link is not doing anything but the kudo email is generating kudos for every post in the boards that is subscribed to.

The FIRST "kudo" given was to the announcement of the "reply by email"...EVIDENCE...

I didn't think you can notify administrator on a kudo.  I just looked and couldn't find out how.

As others have alluded to I wouldn't be surprised if it is a bot that is setup to scrape the forum. There are other websites that use scraped data from PTC community posts with (sometimes) better Google page ranks in order to harvest ad revenue.

The bot likely follows all of the links in the email to scrape more data. One of the links it is following is the kudo link which in turn is kudoing all of the posts.

This is happening to me since today, all my answers are kudo'd right away ... I do appreciate that my answers are indeed great ( 🙂 ) but this does look odd.

Was this user disabled at some point ?

Hi, this user had a temporary ban placed on it that ended.  Lithium is investigating what is happening with this user.  It is easier if they can analyze the action in real-time.  If I don't hear anything today I will set up another temporary ban, but don't be surprised if your kudo count goes down when we remove this account completely.

But, I am sure you all deserve many kudos 😉
