Starting with PTC Creo 3.0, PTC Creo Parametric users can now write Java applications which extend and enhance the PTC Creo Parameteric user interface. This means Java programmers can now modify the PTC Creo Parametric ribbon menus and write their own dialog boxes; something that was previously available only to C and C++ developers. The presenter will discuss the techniques needed to get a Java program into a PTC Creo Parametric ribbon tab - creating the ribbon definition file and adding buttons and tying those buttons to your Java code. Next, the presenter will discuss how to define dialog box components in PTC Creo Parametric's UI resource files, and how to write the code to respond to the dialog box components. The final part of the presentation will focus on sharing the techniques for managing dialog boxes as they grow and become more complex.
