With the news last year that PTC was discontinuing support for Web Parts for SharePoint in Windchill 10.2, the ETRAGE integration solution is positioned to fill this void and provide extended functionality for a bi-directional exchange of data between the two systems. The ETRAGE integration for PTC Windchill and Microsoft SharePoint provides the ability to pass data and key information from system to system. Companies that have integrated PTC Windchill and SharePoint do so for several reasons. One is to provide a simpler interface for persons that are casual users who need to access PTC Windchill information infrequently, forget where the information is located and need to relearn the PTC Windchill interface. A second reason is to provide a wider dissemination of PTC Windchill data to a company’s user base. And a third reason is to increase the value of the PTC Windchill and SharePoint investment. The integration delivers a robust, bidirectional exchange of data between diverse PTC Windchill and SharePoint systems. It can transfer BOM, drawings, part numbers, attributes, comments, updates and more from Windchill to SharePoint. SharePoint can also be used as a portal to view and make changes to Windchill data. The integration automatically detects Lifecycle or Revision changes and at check-in of objects in PTC Windchill. Access to PTC Windchill data through SharePoint, implements the same user authentication and access processes as signing directly into PTC Windchill. The Webinar will demonstrate three applications. The applications are PTC Windchill Change Request Management, PTC Windchill Document Search and Display and PTC Windchill Task approvals from a SharePoint environment.
